What does the Market Review tool compare?
Market Review is a free side-by-side snapshot of Bitcoin and Ethereum perpetual price, open interest, and funding rate, sourced from OKX public market data for the BTC-USDT-SWAP and ETH-USDT-SWAP contracts and collected by Liquid State on an approximately hourly cadence. A visitor can switch between a 24-hour and a 7-day comparison window, and no account or email address is required to use it.
How is the change over time calculated, and what happens when a matching record is missing?
The tool compares the most recently collected record against a record within five minutes of exactly 24 hours or 7 days earlier, depending on the selected window. If no record falls inside that five-minute match, the comparison reads Unavailable rather than being estimated from a nearby point, and a chart line breaks wherever samples are missing or more than 90 minutes apart, so a gap in the underlying collection stays visible instead of being smoothed over.
Why can the displayed open interest change even when funding and positioning have not?
Open interest on this page is notional exposure in US dollars at a single venue, and because it is expressed in dollar terms, a pure price move can change the displayed figure even when the number of open contracts does not change at all. The funding rate is shown as OKX reports it, without annualizing it or treating it as a settled payment, so it reflects one venue at one collection time rather than a market-wide average.
Is Market Review a trading signal or a price prediction?
No. Market Review is explicitly not predictive — its own methodology text describes the charts and any saved comparison as observations, not trading instructions, and it draws from a single venue for only two assets, Bitcoin and Ethereum. A visitor can save a snapshot in their own browser's local storage, with no account or server-side record, and compare it against a later hourly collection, but the tool never forecasts a future price or tells a visitor when to act — it makes an existing change easier to see, not what to do about it.
