Frequently Asked Questions

What is the total crypto market cap?
The total cryptocurrency market capitalization is the combined USD value of every coin CoinGecko tracks — price × circulating supply, summed across the whole market. It is the single most-watched macro number in crypto because it captures the aggregate flow of capital into or out of the asset class, independent of any one coin.
What do the dominance percentages mean?
Dominance is each segment's share of the total market cap. Bitcoin dominance rising usually means capital is concentrating in BTC (risk-off within crypto or early-cycle accumulation); falling BTC dominance with a rising total market cap has historically accompanied altcoin rotations. Stablecoin dominance is a rough proxy for capital sitting on the sidelines inside crypto rails.
Where does the chart history come from?
The current totals and dominance come live from the free CoinGecko global API. The history chart is built from Liquid State's own daily snapshots — one honest reading captured per UTC day — because CoinGecko's historical global chart requires a paid plan. The chart grows one day at a time and never backfills fabricated values.
How is the regime label calculated?
It is a rule-based read of the total market cap's 30-day percentage change: above +30% is Bull Surge, +10% to +30% Bull Trend, −10% to +10% Ranging, −10% to −30% Bear Pressure, and below −30% Bear Capitulation. It is a descriptive context signal from realized data — not a forecast and not a recommendation.
